Choosing Your Heater
The Camilla has an internal volume of 5.5m³. Heater sizing must also allow for glass and other uninsulated surfaces, so the best choice depends on the final configuration. For the standard wood-front Camilla, a 6kW heater is the normal starting point. Larger options can shorten warm-up times or suit a glazing-adjusted volume, but your electrician must check the chosen heater's supply requirements before the sauna arrives. All heater options include stones.
Harvia Vega BC60 6kW
The Harvia Vega BC60, with a 6 kW capacity, is perfectly tailored for spaces within the 5-8 m³ range, making it an ideal and cost-effective match for the Camilla. It's a solid choice for standard sauna heating without additional bells and whistles.
Installation manual - Harvia Vega BC60
Harvia Vega SW80 8kW
If you prefer a stronger heater that can offer quicker heat-up times, consider the Harvia SW80, an 8 kW heater, though it may be more power than necessary and requires a three-phase electrical setup.
Installation manual - Harvia SW80 Installation Manual
Harvia Cilindro PC90XE 9kW
The Harvia Cilindro PC90XE is a floor-standing rock-tower heater with a separate Xenio control panel included. Harvia rates it for 8–14m³ rooms, so it is larger than needed for the standard 5.5m³ wood-front Camilla. We offer it as an optional faster-heating upgrade, and it can make sense where extra glazing increases the calculated room volume. Wi-Fi is not included; MyHarvia control requires a separate Wi-Fi kit.
Installation manual - Harvia Cilindro 90 Installation Manual
Harvia Spirit SP90 9kW with Wi-Fi
The Harvia Spirit SP90XW combines a compact wall-mounted design with an included Xenio Wi-Fi control panel for MyHarvia remote control. Harvia rates the 9kW model for 8–14m³ rooms, so it is larger than needed for the standard wood-front Camilla. Choose it where the final glazing-adjusted volume or desired warm-up time justifies 9kW, after your electrician has checked the supply.

Huum Drop 6kW with WiFi
The HUUM Drop 6 kW Electric Sauna Heater is a stylish and efficient choice for the Camilla Traditional Outdoor Sauna. Its compact, wall-mounted design saves space while providing a high stone capacity of 55 kg, ensuring long-lasting heat and ample steam for a superior sauna experience. Suitable for sauna rooms from 5 to 10 m³, this heater perfectly fits the Camilla sauna’s 5.5 m³ volume. The heater features a modern, rounded design inspired by a drop of water, adding an elegant touch to any sauna interior. It supports external control units, including the HUUM UKU WiFi.

What is Thermowood?

Thermowood stands out as the material of choice for the Camilla Sauna, thanks to its exceptional qualities. This thermally treated pine wood undergoes a specialised thermal modification process, significantly reducing its moisture content.
Less Warping
Through the process of gradually heating and cooling the timber, all resins, sugars, and impurities are extracted. Closing the cell structure results in a moisture content of only 7%, making the timber incredibly stable, durable, and free from impurities that may attract insects. This meticulous method ensures a high-quality sauna that will provide a comfortable and refreshing experience.
Increased Durability
This not only enhances its resistance to warping, shrinking, and rot but also ensures superior durability. With low thermal conductivity, Thermowood offers a gentle, slow heat-up, promising a more enjoyable and comfortable sauna experience.
Improved Insulation
As a result the insulation properties are improved keeping the heat inside and the noise from outside, out, ensuring a relaxing sauna experience.
Seating & bench layout
Compare the usable bench space, comfortable seating and lie-down capacity before choosing your sauna.
| Bench layout | L-shaped, two-tier |
| Usable bench dimensions | 1,960 mm L × 520 mm D and 1,400 mm L × 420 mm D 6 ft 5 in L × 1 ft 8 in D and 4 ft 7 in L × 1 ft 5 in D |
| Seats comfortably | 4 |
| Maximum seated capacity | 3–4 |
| Lie-down capacity | 1 adult |
Lie-down capacity assumes a minimum usable bench length of 175 cm (5 ft 9 in). Taller users should compare the listed bench length with their height.

Should you prefer your sauna to be delivered fully assembled, this service is available for an additional fee by selecting the checkbox above.
Unloading and Positioning
the costs associated with unloading and crane positioning are not included. For flat-pack deliveries, we recommend using a forklift for unloading. However, this can also be done manually, which involves unpacking the sauna on the truck and removing it piece by piece.
Fully Assembled Deliveries
For fully assembled deliveries, either a forklift or a crane will be required, depending on the access to your chosen location. If the access is sufficiently wide, hiring a forklift is generally more cost-effective. In cases where a crane is necessary, the typical cost ranges from £150 to £200.
Alternatively, we can arrange the unloading and positioning for you for an additional fee. Please contact us if you would like to opt for this service.
At Heracles Wellness, we are confident in the quality of the products we offer. Therefore, we provide a 2-year guarantee on these saunas when installed by a professional or an approved installer. If the buyer chooses to self-assemble the sauna, the warranty period is limited to 1 year.
To ensure longevity and maintain the factory warranty, please follow these instructions:
- If you have a self-assembled wooden product, you must finish it both inside and out with an appropriate breathable wood oil to validate the warranty.
- If any parts are missing or defective during assembly and inspection, promptly take pictures and contact us at info@heracleswellness.co.uk. Buyers must report any missing components within 24 hours of receiving the product. Claims made after this period regarding missing items will not be accepted under warranty. However, we can still supply replacement parts after this timeframe, but these will be chargeable.
- The sauna must be installed on a pre-prepared foundation that is level to ensure proper functioning of doors and windows.
Warranty Terms:
- The warranty is valid for 2 years from the product handover for professionally installed saunas, or 1 year for self-assembled saunas, contingent on following the manual and finishing guidelines.
- Repair or replacement of components does not extend the warranty.
- Report missing or defective components immediately with pictures and explanations to info@heracleswellness.co.uk. Missing components must be reported within 24 hours of delivery to qualify for free replacement. Requests made after this period will incur a charge for replacement parts.
- We may investigate and involve experts if necessary.
- The warranty covers construction and component defects, and absence of components.
Warranty Exclusions:
- Self-Assembly Errors: Damages caused by incorrect self-assembly or failure to follow the assembly instructions are not covered.

Missing parts must be reported within 24 hours of delivery to qualify for warranty replacement. After this period, replacement parts can still be provided but will be subject to additional charges.
- Installation: Installing faulty components that could have been identified earlier.
- Information: Providing incorrect information or lacking proof of purchase.
Returns and Refunds Policy for Made-to-Order Saunas
At Heracles Wellness, we take pride in offering high-quality, made-to-order saunas tailored to your unique needs. Due to the bespoke nature of these products, our returns and refund policy is designed to reflect the custom craftsmanship involved.
Why Returns Are Limited for Made-to-Order Saunas
Made-to-order saunas are personalised and manufactured based on specific customer requirements. As such, these items cannot be resold or restocked, which is why we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds once fabrication has begun.
We encourage you to carefully review all details of your order before confirming, including dimensions, features, and finishes.
Our Policy in Detail
• Customisation Acknowledgement: By placing an order for a made-to-order sauna, you acknowledge that this is a bespoke product tailored to your specifications.
• Non-Returnable Items: Once production has started, cancellations, returns, or refunds are not permitted unless the product is defective or damaged upon arrival.
• Damaged or Faulty Products:
• If your sauna arrives with damage or a manufacturing defect, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
• We will assess the issue and may offer a repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the situation.
• Order Review: We strongly recommend double-checking all measurements and customisations to avoid errors.
• Right to Cancel (Prior to Fabrication): You may cancel your order before fabrication begins, subject to an administration fee.
Relevant Consumer Laws
Our policy aligns with your rights under UK consumer protection laws, including:
• Consumer Rights Act 2015: This law ensures products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your sauna does not meet these standards, we will take appropriate action to resolve the issue.
• Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation, and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:
• Bespoke and made-to-order products are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation period for online sales.
• However, your rights remain protected if the product is faulty or does not match the agreed-upon specifications.
How to Contact Us
If you have concerns about your order, please contact us at info@heracleswellness.co.uk. We’re happy to assist and ensure your satisfaction with our products.
Electrical Installation – Important Information
If you hire our installation team to build your sauna, please note that internal electrical wiring is not included and must be completed by a certified electrician.
Our installation team will:
- Mount the sauna heater to the wall (where applicable)
- Attach the LED light strips to the benches
However, the following must be completed by a qualified electrician:
- Final wiring and connection of the heater
- Final wiring of the LED lighting
- Installation and wiring of external control panels, door sensor, thermostat, and any other electrical components (not applicable for manually controlled heaters such as the Harvia Vega BC60).
Electrical Supply Requirements
A sauna heater typically requires a dedicated electrical supply, similar to those used for electric showers or cookers.
Most domestic sauna heaters in the UK operate on a single-phase 230V supply. The current draw can be calculated using the following formula:
Watts ÷ Volts = Amps
Example:
6kW (6000W) ÷ 230V = approximately 26 Amps
Below is a general guide for domestic sauna heaters:
Heater Power - Current Draw - Suggested Cable Size (Single-Phase)
2.3 kW - 10 Amps - 1.5 mm²
3.0 kW - 13 Amps - 2.5 mm²
3.6 kW - 15 Amps - 2.5 mm²
4.5 kW - 19 Amps - 2.5–4.0 mm²
6.0 kW - 26 Amps - 4.0 mm²
8.0 kW - 35 Amps - 6.0 mm²
9.0 kW - model-specific. For the Harvia Cilindro PC90XE, Harvia specifies 1 x 50A with 3 x 10mm² cable on 230V 1N~, or 3 x 16A with 5 x 2.5mm² cable on 400V 3N~.
Cable size depends on cable length, installation method, and other on-site factors. Always defer to your electrician’s judgment.
We strongly advise that installation is carried out by a fully qualified electrician, and that all work complies with current Government regulations and wiring standards (e.g., BS 7671 in the UK).
Sauna Heater Manuals
For exact electrical requirements of each heater please refer to the installation manuals below. If you provide these to your electrician, they should be able to advise you of the necessary wiring.

Maintenance
Camilla Traditional Outdoor Sauna 3-4 Person is designed for outdoor use, but it is not maintenance-free. A small amount of regular care will help protect the timber, keep the sauna clean, and prevent avoidable issues over time.
After each use
• Wipe down wet benches, backrests, floors and high-contact areas.
• Leave the door and vents open until the interior has dried properly.
• Do not leave wet towels or accessories inside the sauna.
Cleaning
• Clean periodically with warm water, a soft cloth or brush, and a mild sauna-safe cleaner.
• Avoid harsh household chemicals, bleach, ammonia, abrasive cleaners, or normal interior varnishes.
Benches and backrests
• Sit on towels during use to reduce sweat staining.
• If bench timber becomes dry or marked, it can be lightly cleaned, gently sanded if needed, and treated with a sauna-suitable bench protection product where appropriate.
Doors, hinges and timber movement
• Outdoor timber naturally expands and contracts with heat, humidity and weather.
• Minor door or hinge adjustments may occasionally be required. This is normal routine maintenance rather than a product fault.
Heater stones
• Inspect sauna stones regularly, especially with frequent use.
• Replace stones if they become cracked, crumbly, heavily discoloured, or start breaking down.
• Stack stones loosely enough to allow airflow around the heating elements. Only use proper sauna stones, not garden or beach stones.
Exterior, roof and exposed locations
• Check the exterior, roof, fixings, hinges, vents and drainage periodically, especially after storms or long wet periods.
• Coastal, shaded, very exposed, or high-rainfall locations may need more frequent maintenance.
• In coastal or sea-air locations, exposed metal parts such as hinges, fixings and brackets should be checked more often and given extra corrosion protection where appropriate, such as WD-40 or a suitable zinc-based protective spray.
• In windy or exposed locations, check that any parts vulnerable to wind lift or movement are properly secured. This can include roof shingles, trims, covers and lightweight external fittings. If needed, use additional suitable fixings, adhesive, or restraints in line with the manufacturer’s guidance.
Manuals
• Always follow the specific manual supplied with your sauna and heater. If the manual gives different maintenance instructions, the manufacturer’s manual should take priority.
Camilla timber treatment
Camilla saunas should be protected with suitable breathable wood treatments. If supplied fully assembled or pre-treated, they still require routine inspection and re-treatment over time.
Interior: use a sauna-suitable interior treatment such as Tikkurila Supi Sauna Finish.
Exterior: use a breathable, UV-rated, water-resistant exterior wood treatment. A good example is Osmo UV Protection Oil, available from B&Q.
• Inspect and re-treat exposed timber at least every 12 months, or sooner if your location or manual requires it.
Camilla Traditional Outdoor Sauna 3-4 Person
Camilla Traditional Outdoor Sauna 3-4 Person - FAQ's
When will I receive my order?
The estimated delivery window is currently ….
This is an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date. The timing can vary depending on production schedules, dispatch arrangements or other unforeseen delays. If you need the product by a particular date, please call us before placing your order so we can check the current schedule with you.
Does this sauna include a heater?
No. The price shown is for the sauna cabin and does not include a heater.
Choose and add a compatible heater from the options on this page. The total price updates with your selection, and each option states whether sauna stones and controls are included. Products labelled “Sauna Kit” include the stated heater in the package.
Can I assemble the sauna myself?
While it's technically possible to assemble the sauna yourself, we strongly recommend having a qualified carpenter or joiner assist you—especially if you don't have prior experience with carpentry or working with wood.
The assembly manual is detailed and user-friendly for those familiar with construction, but without that background, the process can be challenging and time-consuming. Most of our customers choose professional installation for peace of mind and to ensure everything is assembled correctly.
Please note: improper assembly or failure to follow the manual may void the warranty, so if in doubt, we recommend seeking professional help.
How much does it cost to get it assembled by the Heracles team?
Assembly for this model starts at £1,000 + VAT. The final cost depends on your location, as prices increase the further our team travels from London. A team of three carpenters will usually build it in one full day.
Use the Request an Installation Quote button above the options and complete the form with your postcode, access and site details. We will confirm the exact installation price from that information. Installation is invoiced separately and typically arranged closer to the delivery date. You can use a local carpenter, but our team has extensive experience assembling this model.
How many people does the Camilla sauna seat?
The Camilla seats three people in comfort or four at classic sauna closeness.
Its L-shaped benches also allow one person to lie down while leaving limited seated space on the return bench. The exact fit depends on each user's height and preferred personal space.
What base do I need?
The sauna should be installed on a solid, level, well-drained base, such as a concrete pad, slabbed patio or structurally suitable deck. The key requirement is that the base remains completely flat and stable under the full load.
For the Camilla 3–4 Person, allow for the 600 kg sauna plus 400 kg for up to four users, based on 100 kg per person. The base must therefore support a combined load of at least 1,000 kg (1 tonne), spread across the full ground-contact frame. Give this figure to the person building the base so they can select the right construction and safety margin for your site.
Avoid slopes and areas where water can collect around the sauna. For added protection, we recommend fitting continuous bitumen strips or a suitable waterproof membrane between the prepared base and the timber base frame, as shown below. This prevents the timber from sitting directly on a damp surface and reduces moisture reaching the base.
Why is there no insulation in this sauna?
Most simply put, it's not necessary. This is a compact sauna, the thermowood has excellent insulation properties and the sauna is designed to minimise heat loss.
What is the benefit of buying the sauna fully assembled?
If you have sufficient access we always recommend buying the sauna already assembled. This way it will be assembled by experts and will already be pre-treated. All you would need to do is get your electrician to connect it to you power supply and you could be using your sauna from day one.
Can the Harvia Cilindro PC90XE run on single-phase power?
Yes. The Harvia Cilindro PC90XE can be connected to either 230V single-phase or 400V three-phase power.
Harvia specifies 1 x 50A with 3 x 10mm² cable for 230V 1N~, or 3 x 16A with 5 x 2.5mm² cable for 400V 3N~. The heater requires a dedicated supply. Your electrician must confirm the final cable size, protective devices and installation method for your property.
The separate Xenio control panel is included. Wi-Fi and MyHarvia control require a separate Wi-Fi kit; they are not included with the PC90XE.
Where are the ventilation openings on the Camilla sauna?
The installation drawing shows a low-level air inlet in the front wall, to the right of the door, and a high-level outlet in the rear wall near the roofline.
Keep both vents clear. The installer should also follow the ventilation instructions supplied with the chosen heater.
How is a fully assembled Camilla unloaded and positioned?
A fully assembled Camilla weighs about 600kg and has no published certified lifting points. Where access permits, a suitable forklift or crane can position it in one piece, but the lifting contractor must assess the site and plan the lift.
Standard delivery does not include crane or forklift unloading or final positioning. If suitable lifting access is not available, choose the flat-pack version so the sauna can be unloaded and carried in components.
How is the Camilla roof constructed and maintained?
The Camilla's curved Thermowood shell is covered with waterproof roofing layers and Katepal bitumen shingles.
The manufacturer does not publish a fixed roof lifespan because exposure, installation and maintenance all affect it. Inspect the shingles, edges and fixings at least once a year and after severe weather, and repair any loose or damaged areas promptly. Coastal and highly exposed sites may need more frequent checks.
Can I see one of your saunas in person before ordering?
We do not currently have a full showroom, but many of our existing customers are happy to show their sauna to prospective buyers.
If you would like to see one in person, please contact us and we can try to arrange a viewing with a customer in or near your area.
Does installation include the electrical connection?
No. Our installation team can assemble the sauna, but the heater and any other electrical components must still be connected by a qualified electrician.
You will need a suitable electrical supply and, at minimum, an isolator switch. Full details are provided in the Electrical Supply section on the product page.
Can any qualified electrician connect the sauna, and do you provide guidance?
Yes. Any qualified electrician should be able to connect the sauna, provided they follow the electrical requirements listed in the Electrical Supply section of the product page.
After you place your order, we also send further information that you can pass on to your electrician.
Can you recommend an electrician for the final connection?
In some cases, we may be able to share details of electricians who have connected saunas for previous customers.
Availability will depend on your location, and you are also welcome to use your own qualified electrician.
Is the Heracles installation team experienced with this model?
Yes. Our installation team uses specialist carpenters and installers who are experienced in assembling outdoor saunas, which is one of the reasons many customers prefer professional installation.
Do you carry out site visits before installation?
No. We do not carry out site visits.
To request an installation quote, use the Request an Installation Quote button above the options and complete the form with photos, measurements, site plans, access details and the proposed sauna location. Our installation team will use that information to assess access, base preparation and positioning, and flag any obvious issues before installation.
Why has my sauna door gone out of alignment over time?
In outdoor saunas, it is normal for the timber structure to respond to changes in temperature, humidity, and ambient conditions over time. This can occasionally cause minor movement in the door opening, which may affect how the door closes or sits within the frame.
For this reason, sauna door hinges are designed to be adjustable. Minor door or hinge alignment adjustments over time are normal and should be carried out in line with the manual as part of routine ownership maintenance, rather than being treated as a product fault.
Why is the non-kit Camilla more expensive than the kit version?
The non-kit Camilla is more expensive because it is a made-to-order sauna rather than a pre-packaged stock kit.
The kit version is imported in bulk with a simpler standard heater package, which keeps the cost lower. By contrast, the non-kit version is produced to order, can be specified with upgraded heater options and other bespoke choices, and is shipped individually rather than as part of a bulk stock order.
In practical terms, the biggest price differences usually come from the upgraded heater and controls, the more bespoke nature of the order, and the higher logistics costs involved in bringing in an individually made sauna.
Do outdoor saunas need regular maintenance?
Yes. Outdoor saunas are not maintenance-free.
As a minimum, owners should expect to inspect and re-treat exposed timber at least every 12 months, or sooner if the manufacturer manual and local conditions require it.
You should also expect to make minor door or hinge adjustments over time in line with the manual, as timber structures naturally move slightly with changes in temperature and humidity.
In coastal or sea-air environments, exposed metal parts should be checked more regularly and protected with a rust-proof treatment such as WD-40 or another suitable anti-corrosion product.
Sauna heaters also require maintenance in line with the manufacturer manual. This normally includes periodically checking, washing, and restacking the stones, and in the longer term electric heater elements may need replacing if they wear out.
We do not currently offer a formal maintenance programme.
What is the height of the top bench and the distance to the roof?
The top bench is 815mm from the floor, and the distance from the top bench to the roof is 1100mm.
What paint or treatment should I use on my outdoor sauna?
If your sauna has exposed or untreated exterior timber, use a breathable, UV-resistant and water-resistant exterior wood treatment. We recommend Tikkurila Valtti Plus Kesto or Tikkurila Valtti Plus Color. If you prefer a clear, natural finish, Osmo UV Protection Oil is a good option.
Apply the treatment after assembly and before regular use, then inspect the timber annually and re-treat it as required for the product and your site’s exposure.
For sauna-room walls, window frames and door frames, use Tikkurila Supi Sauna Finish or Tikkurila Supi Sauna Wax. For benches and backrests, use Tikkurila Supi Laudesuoja Bench Protection. Never use ordinary exterior paint, varnish or household wood treatments inside the heated sauna room.
If your sauna has factory-finished or specialist cladding, follow the supplied manual and do not overcoat it unless the manufacturer confirms the product is suitable.
These recommendations are general guidance. Check both the sauna manufacturer’s manual and the treatment manufacturer’s instructions, and satisfy yourself that the product is suitable for the timber and any existing finish before applying it. If you are unsure about a colour, request samples from the manufacturer or retailer and test one on a spare timber offcut or a small, inconspicuous area first.
Really pleased with the build quality of my Camilla sauna unit, it looks great particularly after applying necessary external and internal oil. Keith and team customer service and communication could not have been better, and Keith helped explain I could put heater on the left hand side of the sauna (as I enter) to help the electrician wire up to adjacent shed unit. Highly recommend.
I had been researching saunas for my garden and came across Hercules wellness. Reading the reviews I decided this was the company I definitely wanted to go with them, plus the fact that they did the choice of sauna and heaters that I wanted.
From first contact I was not disappointed and the service has been brilliant from initial enquiry to purchase and then install. Any questions I had were answered and all information supplied was fantastic.
The installation team were so efficient, polite and absolutely were experts in their field. In addition to putting up my wonderful sauna, they helped my electrician with guidance & a few tips, which was much appreciated.
The sauna itself and 6kw spirit heater I’m so pleased with, it’s been a brilliant purchase from brilliant company.
Thank you to you all and to the install team.
