Warranty

Wood Guarantee

The wood structure is covered for 2 years when the sauna is installed by the Insignia installation team, or 1 year where the sauna is self-installed.

Insignia saunas are made from the highest quality woods. All structures using wood are susceptible to minor dents, scratches and scuffing. This is normal and will not affect the integrity or operation of your sauna.

Wood is a living material that continues to respond to climate conditions, even after being manufactured into a sauna. Variations in the colour or grain and irregularities such as fine cracks are part of the natural beauty of the wood and in no way should be considered defects. During normal operation, wood may crack slightly due to changes in moisture level. This will not affect the structural integrity of the sauna and is not considered replaceable under the terms of the warranty.

Should your sauna have interior blemishes, scratches, or scuffs, these can be either left alone or sanded with fine grain sand paper. Please avoid any treatment containing a high concentration of alcohol as this may discolour the wood and leave a stain.

For the exterior, the current model uses an aluminium-clad outer finish and an aluminium frame/base, so there is no exposed outer timber requiring routine treatment and no need to leave 360-degree access around the sauna for future retreatment. Please follow the latest Heracles / Insignia care guidance for your specific model configuration.

2 Year Electrical Guarantee

IMPORTANT NOTE: Sauna stoves must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part "P" of government regulations. Under no circumstances should they be installed by a non-qualified person or amateur electrician. Failure to do so is hazardous and will invalidate the warranty.

Items not covered under your warranty:

  • Light bulbs used in the wall lighting are considered a consumable product
  • Rocks are susceptible to cracking/splitting over time and are considered a consumable product. We recommend replacing your sauna rocks once they start to erode. It is best to check them every six months and use maintenance techniques to increase their longevity
  • Seat covers fall under general wear and tear and are not covered under the terms of the warranty

NOTE: Insignia do not cover labour or any services employed by a third party.

NEVER: Install an indoor-use sauna in an outdoor environment. Failing to comply with this will invalidate your warranty.

Maintenance

Insignia Hybrid Infrared and Traditional 2 Person Outdoor Sauna is designed for outdoor use, but it is not maintenance-free. A small amount of regular care will help keep the sauna clean, protect the timber, and prevent avoidable issues over time.

After each use

• Wipe down wet benches, backrests, floors and high-contact areas.

• Leave the door and vents open until the interior has dried properly.

• Do not leave wet towels or accessories inside the sauna.

Cleaning

• Clean periodically with warm water, a soft cloth or brush, and a mild sauna-safe cleaner.

• Avoid harsh household chemicals, bleach, ammonia, abrasive cleaners, or normal interior varnishes.

Benches and interior timber

• Sit on towels during use to reduce sweat staining.

• If the bench timber becomes dry or marked, it can be lightly cleaned and gently sanded if required. Only use timber-care products that are suitable for sauna interiors and follow the Insignia manual.

Infrared heaters

• Keep infrared heater panels clean, dry, and unobstructed.

• Wipe panels only with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth when the sauna is switched off and fully cool.

• Do not spray water or cleaning products directly onto infrared heaters, control panels, lights, speakers, or electrical components.

Traditional heater and stones

• Inspect sauna stones regularly, especially with frequent use.

• Replace stones if they become cracked, crumbly, heavily discoloured, or start breaking down.

• Stack stones loosely enough to allow airflow around the heating elements. Only use proper sauna stones, not garden or beach stones.

Doors, seals and fittings

• Check the door, hinges, handles, seals, vents and visible fixings periodically.

• Outdoor timber and fittings can move slightly with temperature and humidity, so minor adjustment may occasionally be required.

Exterior, roof and exposed locations

• Check the exterior, roof, fixings, hinges, vents and drainage periodically, especially after storms or long wet periods.

• Coastal, shaded, very exposed, or high-rainfall locations may need more frequent maintenance.

• In coastal or sea-air locations, exposed metal parts such as hinges, fixings and brackets should be checked more often and given extra corrosion protection where appropriate, such as WD-40 or a suitable zinc-based protective spray.

• In windy or exposed locations, check that any parts vulnerable to wind lift or movement are properly secured. If needed, use additional suitable fixings, adhesive, or restraints in line with the manufacturer’s guidance.

Manuals

• Always follow the specific manual supplied with your sauna. If the manual gives different maintenance instructions, the manufacturer’s manual should take priority.

Can't decide between infrared or a traditional sauna? Well, now you don't have to. The Insignia Hybrid combines the best of both worlds, giving you the flexibility of soothing far infrared heat alongside the authentic Finnish sauna experience.

The latest generation of the Insignia Hybrid keeps exactly the same internal hybrid sauna experience, with the changes focused on the exterior construction for better durability, lower maintenance and improved efficiency. Inside, the sauna is handcrafted from superior Canadian Hemlock, a premium timber chosen for its natural sauna feel, durability and stability.

This updated version now benefits from a new aluminium-clad exterior and an aluminium frame/base. These external upgrades add strength, help make panel and bearer bowing a non-issue in normal use, remove the need for exterior timber treatment and mean you do not need to leave 360-degree access around the sauna for future treatment. Insignia Hybrid Infrared and Traditional 2 Person Outdoor Sauna - FAQ's

What happens on delivery day?

If you have ordered delivery only, your pallet will be left on your drive way for you to take in at your leisure. If you have ordered the full install service, Insignia require that you have at least one person to assist them with unloading and getting your sauna into position.

What base do I need?

When planning the base for your Insignia Hybrid Sauna, there are two key requirements to keep in mind.

First, the base must be completely level, and secondly, it must be able to support the weight of the sauna and the maximum number of users. The sauna itself weighs 250kg's, so be sure to account for an additional 200kg's for users when choosing your base material. This can include concrete, patio decking, tiles, asphalt, and more, as long as it is flat and sturdy enough to hold up to 600kg's.

To avoid any potential issues, it is recommended to avoid placing the base on a slope or an area prone to water pooling.

Do I need to treat the sauna?

The aluminium-clad exterior reduces the amount of external timber maintenance, but the sauna is not completely maintenance-free.

Any exposed timber elements should still be checked and treated in line with the manufacturer manual, and owners should be prepared for at least annual maintenance where wood treatment is required.

Door and hinge alignment may need minor adjustment over time in line with the manual. In coastal or sea-air environments, exposed metal parts should be protected with a rust-proof treatment such as WD-40 or another suitable anti-corrosion product.

Sauna heaters also require maintenance in line with the manufacturer manual. This normally includes periodically checking, washing, and restacking the stones, and in the longer term electric heater elements may need replacing if they wear out.

We do not currently operate a formal maintenance programme, but if you would like help, please contact us and we can quote for an annual service of your sauna.

Can the sauna be painted a different colour?

The current aluminium-clad exterior is supplied finished and is not designed to need exterior painting or a breathable timber treatment. If you are considering a custom finish, speak to us first so we can advise based on the exact model/version.

How hot will it get?

By nature infrared saunas do not get as hot as traditional saunas. This is because they heat objects instead of the air. The recommended temperature range for an infrared sauna is around 45-55°C, with the maximum being 65°C.

Fortunately, the hybrid version comes with a 4.5kW traditional electric heater which can easily boost the maximum temperature well over 80°C.

Can I use both the infrared and the heater at the same time?

Although you can, but it is not recommended as it would stress the wires and may cause fire due to overheating. To maximize efficiency, we recommend heating the sauna using the heater first and then moving over to infrared to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Do I need a 3 phase supply?

The Insignia Hybrid can be run from either a single or three phase supply. We do not offer electrical advice and all electrical connections should be made by a qualified electrician.

Can I see one of your saunas in person before ordering?

We do not currently have a full showroom, but many of our existing customers are happy to show their sauna to prospective buyers.

If you would like to see one in person, please contact us and we can try to arrange a viewing with a customer in or near your area.

Do you carry out site visits before installation?

No, we do not usually carry out site visits before installation.

In most cases, customers can send us photos, measurements, site plans, and access details, and we can advise whether the proposed location looks suitable.

This is normally enough for us to highlight any obvious issues with access, base preparation, or positioning before the installation goes ahead.

Why has my sauna door gone out of alignment over time?

In outdoor saunas, it is normal for the timber structure to respond to changes in temperature, humidity, and ambient conditions over time. This can occasionally cause minor movement in the door opening, which may affect how the door closes or sits within the frame.

For this reason, sauna door hinges are designed to be adjustable. Minor door or hinge alignment adjustments over time are normal and should be carried out in line with the manual as part of routine ownership maintenance, rather than being treated as a product fault.

Do outdoor saunas need regular maintenance?

Yes. Outdoor saunas are not maintenance-free.

As a minimum, owners should expect to inspect and re-treat exposed timber at least every 12 months, or sooner if the manufacturer manual and local conditions require it.

You should also expect to make minor door or hinge adjustments over time in line with the manual, as timber structures naturally move slightly with changes in temperature and humidity.

In coastal or sea-air environments, exposed metal parts should be checked more regularly and protected with a rust-proof treatment such as WD-40 or another suitable anti-corrosion product.
