The Insignia Hybrid is a 2 person outdoor sauna that combines a 4.5 kW Harvia Finnish electric stove with four far infrared carbon panels, so you can choose a traditional or an infrared session. It has a hand-crafted Canadian Hemlock interior, an aluminium-clad exterior and aluminium base that need no wood treatment, a glass front, LED chromotherapy and Bluetooth speakers. It measures 1.7 × 1.5 m and 2.1 m high, inside 1.31 × 1.11 m and 1.78 m high, and comes flat-packed with free UK mainland delivery.
Infrared or traditional? Have both
Can't decide between infrared and a traditional sauna? You don't have to. The Insignia Hybrid pairs soothing far infrared heat with an authentic Finnish sauna, in a compact hand-crafted Canadian Hemlock room for two behind a floor-to-ceiling glass front.

The latest Insignia Hybrid keeps exactly the same hybrid sauna inside. The changes are all on the outside, for better durability, lower maintenance and better efficiency.
Aluminium-clad exterior
A stronger, lower-maintenance outdoor finish. No exterior wood treatment needed.
Aluminium frame and base
More structural strength and long-term stability, and the rigidity stops panels and bearers bowing.
No 360° access needed
With no outer timber to re-treat, you don't need to leave room all round for future treatment.
Extra outer layer
The cladding adds insulation, so the sauna holds its heat better and runs more efficiently.
Two ways to use it
Choose a traditional Finnish sauna or gentle far infrared, depending on how you feel.
Traditional mode
The 4.5 kW Finnish Harvia stove has high-quality stainless steel elements and a larger rock capacity, made for the traditional Finnish ‘löyly’. Splash water over the hot peridotite stones with the ladle and enjoy the steam. Made in Finland. With the stove, the room can go well over 80°C.
Far infrared mode
Four low EMF far infrared heaters warm you directly rather than heating the air, reaching up to 30 mm into your skin for a deep, soothing warmth that many people find relaxing for muscles and joints. Infrared works best at about 45–55°C, with a maximum of 65°C.
One at a time
You can run both together, but we don't recommend it as it stresses the wiring. Heat the room with the stove first, then switch over to infrared to enjoy the best of both.

Build and supply
Warranty: 2 years on the electrics. The wood structure is covered for 2 years when Insignia's team installs it, or 1 year if you build it yourself.
Space and seating: the practical stuff
Drawn to scale from Insignia's plans, seen from above. The figures are an average UK man: 1.74 m tall, 47 cm across the shoulders.
Sitting: 2 in comfort
Plan for about 2.7 × 2.9 m of garden
The sauna itself is 1.70 m wide, 1.50 m deep and 2.10 m high. Leave a gap around it so you can look after it:
- Behind and each side: about 50 cmEnough to stand in, so you can reach the isolator and control box, and check the cladding, fixings and door hinges (Insignia asks for at least 40 cm each side for assembly and servicing).
- Against a wall or fence?Keep at least 40 cm: Insignia need that gap to assemble and service the sauna. The aluminium cladding never needs painting, so you won't need more than that on that side. Ask your electrician to put the isolator on a side you can reach.
- In front: about 90 cmThe glass door opens outward, and you want a clear, safe step in and out.
- BaseLevel, and strong enough for about 0.5 tonnes: the sauna (250 kg), the heater and stones and up to 160 kg of people. See “What base do I need?” in the FAQs.

Base
Solid and level, strong enough for the sauna and its users, with a slight fall to the back so water runs off. Keep it clear of standing water, using bearers or mats to stop damp. Avoid slopes and spots where water pools.
