We use standard Katepal roofing shingles, securely attached to the structure. Lifespan depends on wind exposure, but they are easy and inexpensive to replace when needed.

For low-pressure areas, we recommend the Wood 13 heater. For all other locations, the Flow heater is typically the best option.

No. Our installation team can assemble the sauna, but the heater and any other electrical components must still be connected by a qualified electrician.

Yes. Any qualified electrician should be able to connect the sauna, provided they follow the electrical requirements listed in the Electrical Supply section of the product page.

Assembly time depends on the model, access and site conditions. Many outdoor saunas can be assembled in around one day, while larger or more complex models may take longer.

Yes. Our installation team uses specialist carpenters and installers who are experienced in assembling outdoor saunas, which is one of the reasons many customers prefer professional installation.

Outdoor saunas should be installed on a solid, level, well-drained base that is suitable for the size and weight of the model you are buying.

Suitable options can include a concrete pad, paving, tiles, or structurally suitable decking, provided the surface is flat, stable, and able to support the load without movement.

We also recommend positioning the base far enough away from walls, fences, and other obstructions to allow access for future wood treatment and maintenance, and to ensure the fuse box can still be accessed when needed.

The Round Cube Single weighs approximately 1100kg for the 2.0m model, 1290kg for the 2.4m model and 1330kg for the 2.6m model, before the heater, stones and people using the sauna are added.

The supporting-foot area is 2.4m × 1.65m for the 2.0m model, 2.4m × 2m for the 2.4m model and 2.4m × 2.2m for the 2.6m model. The base must fully support the feet and be solid, level, stable and well drained.

For planning, allow for the sauna weight plus at least 200kg for the heater, stones and users, so the base should be suitable for at least 1300kg on the 2.0m model, 1500kg on the 2.4m model and 1550kg on the 2.6m model. If you expect heavier use or more people inside at once, allow extra capacity.

Position the base far enough from walls, fences and other obstacles to leave usable access around the sauna for timber treatment and future maintenance. We strongly recommend leaving at least 500mm behind the sauna, where the fuse box is normally positioned, so it remains accessible.

No. We do not carry out site visits.

In outdoor saunas, it is normal for the timber structure to respond to changes in temperature, humidity, and ambient conditions over time. This can occasionally cause minor movement in the door opening, which may affect how the door closes or sits within the frame.

For this reason, sauna door hinges are designed to be adjustable. Minor door or hinge alignment adjustments over time are normal and should be carried out in line with the manual as part of routine ownership maintenance, rather than being treated as a product fault.

We do not currently have a full showroom, but many of our existing customers are happy to show their sauna to prospective buyers.

If your sauna has exposed or untreated exterior timber, use a breathable, UV-resistant and water-resistant exterior wood treatment. We recommend Tikkurila Valtti Plus Kesto or Tikkurila Valtti Plus Color. If you prefer a clear, natural finish, Osmo UV Protection Oil is a good option.

Apply the treatment after assembly and before regular use, then inspect the timber annually and re-treat it as required for the product and your site’s exposure.

For sauna-room walls, window frames and door frames, use Tikkurila Supi Sauna Finish or Tikkurila Supi Sauna Wax. For benches and backrests, use Tikkurila Supi Laudesuoja Bench Protection. Never use ordinary exterior paint, varnish or household wood treatments inside the heated sauna room.

If your sauna has factory-finished or specialist cladding, follow the supplied manual and do not overcoat it unless the manufacturer confirms the product is suitable.

These recommendations are general guidance. Check both the sauna manufacturer’s manual and the treatment manufacturer’s instructions, and satisfy yourself that the product is suitable for the timber and any existing finish before applying it. If you are unsure about a colour, request samples from the manufacturer or retailer and test one on a spare timber offcut or a small, inconspicuous area first.

The exterior quantities above are for an untreated flat-pack cabin. Leil states that factory-assembled cabins receive a first protective coating during production; if yours is factory-coated, confirm the supplied finish and use the same compatible system for its follow-up coat.

The buying calculation uses 2.0 m: 16.97 m² interior requiring 2.44 litres, and 5.16 m² of bench timber requiring 0.74 litres, with 15.08 m² outside requiring 4.34 litres of Valtti or 1.93 litres of Osmo; 2.4 m: 19.78 m² interior requiring 2.84 litres, and 6.27 m² of bench timber requiring 0.9 litres, with 16.72 m² outside requiring 4.81 litres of Valtti or 2.14 litres of Osmo; 2.6 m: 21.19 m² interior requiring 3.05 litres, and 6.95 m² of bench timber requiring 1 litres, with 17.54 m² outside requiring 5.04 litres of Valtti or 2.24 litres of Osmo. It uses the lower published coverage rate and one coat inside, two coats on untreated exterior timber, with a 15% allowance. Glass, roof shingles or membranes, the underside and confirmed factory-painted trim are excluded.

These are conservative buying allowances. Follow the current label and technical sheet for the product you choose; if its coverage or coat count differs, use those figures instead.

Yes. Our traditional saunas are suitable for commercial use, and we already supply many commercial customers.

Commercial use requires a regular maintenance regime, as it would with any sauna. This includes cleaning the sauna, inspecting and maintaining the heater stones, and re-treating or painting the timber when required. The frequency will depend on usage, location and the manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
